Sol LeWitt’s conceptual compositions articulate structure and method. Like a musical score, the artwork is instructional and minimizes the hand of the artist in order to convey an abstract and universal expression. LeWitt (American, 1928–2007) is renowned as a founding member of both Minimalism and Conceptual Art.
