JILLIAN MAYER
Jillian Mayer (b. 1984, Miami, FL) lives and works in Miami, FL. She received her BFA from Florida International University in 2007. Mayer’s work has been presented in solo exhibitions at the Perez Art Museum, Miami, FL; the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT; Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit, MI; LAX Art, Los Angeles, CA; University of Buffalo Art Galleries, Buffalo, NY; Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Winston-Salem, NC; Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Salt Lake City, UT; and the Bass Museum of Art, Miami Beach, FL, among others. She has participated in group exhibitions at Queens Museum, New York, NY; MoMA PS1, New York, NY; The Wallach Art Gallery, Columbia University, New York, NY; Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, FL; Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, FL; Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, OH; Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Miami, FL; The Fabric Workshop and Museum, Philadelphia, PA, and many others. In 2010, the artist’s work was one of the 25 selections for the Guggenheim’s Youtube Play: A Biennial of Creative Video. As part of the Guggenheim’s Creative Video Biennial, the artist’s work was exhibited at The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice, Italy; Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain; and Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin, Germany. Her solo exhibition New Sincerity 2.0 is currently on view at The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum, Flagler College, St. Augustine, FL and she has an upcoming exhibition with the Storrs School of Architecture, UNC Charlotte, NC. For Frieze Los Angeles 2022, Mayer was commissioned to create a full-room installation comprising large-scale works including new glass sculpture. Mayer has an upcoming commission project with Facebook and she is installing her first permanent public art piece this year with Art in Public Places, Miami at the Port of Miami.
