Artist Bio
Alex Roskin, born in France, studied sculpture at Alfred University before he entered a traditional English-style furniture apprenticeship program. With these skills, Alex was honored to work with Richard Scott Newman whose pieces take upwards of a year to create. Alex then studied at the Rhode Island School of Design’s furniture program, where he earned a MFA.
Upon completion of his graduate work, Alex went on to teach at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in the Industrial Design Department. Since 2002, Alex has been Professor at Hofstra University and creating new work in his studio in Hudson, NY.
