Artist Statement
Perception and possibility, as much as circumstance, create the self.  I am concerned with sculpting a portrait that examines how these changeable factors are revealed through momentary gesture and form.  Every moment experienced comprises all past, present, and future considerations: the past that happened; the past that the individual thinks happened; the present as perceived by the unique person.  The future also intersects every lived moment as either fear or desire, events or hopes that might seem to pre-exist as fate. These works are examinations of a single moment's particular alchemy of perception, possibility, and reality; they are portraits of an instant of the self.
